Graphics settings and their impact on performance using Dying Light as an example.

The results of the last test seemed interesting to me, and I decided to repeat it. There wasn’t much space left on the SSD; it was only enough for Dying Light. When the game came out, I was very upset about the unfairly forgotten Dead Island, and the second part that was not released. But in the end, I accepted that Dying Light was a good game and spent a lot of time playing it. Its optimization leaves much to be desired, because no matter how high the FPS is, freezes still force you to lower the settings. And transferring the game to a solid-state drive does not help it, the freezes still remain. But it seems that the Game Prelauncher utility has smoothed out this unevenness. All that remains is to reduce the loading time, but it’s unlikely that anything can be done about this, if even with an SSD it loads in 33 seconds, although maybe I’m being impudent. If you are using Windows 10, then enable game mode, my average FPS increased by 7%.

Testing was carried out during the “air cargo” task, when the time of day stopped, and the place was not chosen by chance; from one of the roofs next to the tower you can see the city from the closest place to the farthest one. Horizontal viewing angle is standard 90 degrees.

Computer configuration:
operating system casinobetway.uk Windows 7 Ultimate x64;
Motherboard MSI B150M PRO-DH;
CPU Intel i5-6600 Skylake;
RAM Kingston DDR4 2133 MHz 8 GB;
Video card ASUS GeForce GTX 950 STRIX OC;
Disk subsystem Kingston SKC400S37/128G + Western Digital Caviar Blue WD10EZEX.

At all minimum graphics settings, FullHD resolution, full screen mode, and with the prelauncher turning off everything, the result was as follows:
Video memory 1349 MB occupied (and every other time 1829 MB);
RAM 4516 MB occupied (and after the same times 4251 MB);
CPU 79% loaded;
Frame rate at rest 101 frames, and while running on the map from 84 to 120;
Draw time frame was 9.6 ms.

With all maximum settings the result is:
Video memory 1970 MB occupied (+621 MB);
RAM 5089 MB occupied (+573 MB);
CPU 43% loaded (he raised his frequency a little);
Frame rate at rest 41 frames, and while running around the map from 24 to 52 (-60 personnel);
Draw time frame was 24.4 ms (+14.8 ms).

Result with maximum texture quality:
Video memory 1951 MB occupied (+602 MB);
RAM 4556 MB occupied (+40 MB);
CPU 79% loaded;
Frame rate at rest 100 frames (-1 frame);
Draw time frame was 9.8 ms (+0.2 ms).
